The Goal is Simple.

To make it convenient and fun to get dance shoes and clothing in Central Oregon…that fit right and feel right.

On the first try.

Without a return label.

And, without having to drive hours over the pass.

But, Central Oregon is a big place, and we wanted to make it convenient for everyone. So, we hatched an idea to convert a former delivery truck into the cutest, most awesomest mobile store. And…it worked!

To our delight - yet honest surprise - we outgrew the truck within a few quick months and traded our wheels for HVAC. I’m not complaining.

We have loved every minute of this crazy adventure and can’t wait to meet you. In the meantime, keep dancing and spreading kindness. The world needs more of both.

Dance Gear Is Not Simple.

It really shouldn’t be that complicated. But, it is.

Raise your hand if you are convinced that dancewear sizing charts are written in some sort of secret code. Yep, we are too.

Ordering online is so overwhelming and frustrating. Our family has been doing this for years, and we still can’t get the right fit without a few rounds of returns.

After several trips to Eugene and Portland, and six attempts to order, return, and reorder Kate’s various dance shoes this past fall, we decided it was high time we brought dancewear back to Central Oregon.

JENICA, owner
Favorite Genre: Whatever happens to be on stage at the moment!

Jenica participated in competitive dance and theater through high school and into college, and she has remained passionate about supporting and encouraging the performing arts. When she found herself in the right place, at the right time, and with the right experience, she answered the call for a dance store in Central Oregon. She is honored to be a part of the incredible community of dancers and their families.

LIZ, staff
Favorite Genre: Contemporary, Jazz

If you’ve noticed how cute the store is looking, thank Liz! Her keen eye and love of all things cozy help make the store a fun place to shop and hang out. Liz has trained in a variety of dance styles since a young age. She started several community dance groups and was part of two performing companies in Portland. She continues to dance, teach, choreograph, and perform locally. Liz is thrilled to be a part of the Central Oregon’s Big Dream for performing arts.

BEA, staff & pointe shoe fitting apprentice
Favorite Genre: Ballet

Bea is known for her poise and grace on and off the stage. She is also quick on her feet when helping customers, thanks to years of training in both classical ballet and dance store operations. Bea has mastered the art of sizing dance shoes and is now working to perfect her pointe shoe fittings skills.

CAROL, pointe shoe fitter
Favorite Genre: Ballet

The amazing Carol Laird is back at the fitting barre! Carol is an exceptionally experienced dancer and our very own Fairy PointeMother. When she owned Encore Dance Supply in Bend, word about her careful, thorough, and engaging fittings quickly spread, and dancers across Oregon and beyond traveled to see her. If you haven’t yet had a fitting with Carol, you are in for a real treat.

NICOLE, pointe shoe fitter
Favorite Genre: Ballet

Nicole has been dancing in Central Oregon since she was five, and continues to train and teach. When she started on pointe, she quickly learned that poorly fitted shoes were uncomfortable and gave her blisters. But, correctly fitted shoes looked and felt great. Whether you are ready for your first pair or need something new, you will love her infection enthusiasm for finding the shoes that help your feet stay strong and healthy so you can grow as a dancer.

KATE, staff
Favorite Genre: Hip Hop

Kate is constantly dancing, regardless of whether there’s music playing or not. She trains and competes in ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, and tap, and is a teacher’s assist for several younger classes. She started working with Move It Dancewear when it was just a mobile boutique, and most enjoys fitting the “littles” in their first pairs of tiny ballet or tap shoes.
